Police Searching for Marshall County Man
Leiters Ford – The Indiana State Police is investigating the alleged disappearance of Aaron Tracy Eckman, 20, Lapaz, IN. Eckman is a white male, six foot tall, and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a yellow neon shirt with the phrase “work hard, play hard.” Eckman was last seen, this morning, at approximately 2:00 a.m near 7934 West Olson Road, Leiters Ford, IN. He was allegedly visiting his girlfriend’s relatives at that address.
This morning at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 hang-up phone call at 7934 West Olson Road, Leiters Ford, IN. During the course of investigating that call, officers received information that Eckman had possibly fallen into the Tippecanoe River. Conservation officers from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources were called in to assist in the search for Eckman.
Conservation officers utilized boats and sonar to search a five mile stretch of the river. After approximately seven hours, the water search was suspended due to swift currents and a high water table making it too dangerous to continue. Officers from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police searched the banks and immediate area with negative results.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about Aaron Eckman is asked to call the Indiana State Police at 765-473-6666.
