The NJDOT has advised that significant lane closures should be anticipated on Route 18 and Route 1 this weekend as part of an ongoing construction project involving the Route 18 bridge over Route 1 in New Brunswick.
Lane closures will take place on the northbound and southbound sides of Route 18 from 8 p.m. Friday, June 26 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 29. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Route 18 throughout the weekend with periodic 15-minute stoppages anticipated.
The left lane of Route 1 northbound will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, June 26 through 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27 and again from 11 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday, June 28. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on the northbound side.
Route 1 southbound will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 27 and again from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday, June 28, with a detour in place.
Drivers should expect delays and are urged to plan alternative routes.
