Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a New Madrid, Missouri man arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute/Deliver.
David P. Wood (31) of 17 Edwards Avenue, New Madrid, Missouri has been charged with the Class B Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute/Deliver.
Sheriff Walter states that on Thursday, June 25, 2015 Deputy Carl Rose responded to an establishment, outside of Sikeston, for a report of Wood selling narcotics at the establishment. As Deputy Rose arrived, Wood was leaving in a vehicle. Wood was stopped by Deputy Rose on US Highway 61.
Wood gave permission to search his vehicle and person. During the search, a small case was located near the back waist line of Wood. Inside the case were three small plastic bags. Two had a white crystal like substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine. The other bag contained three yellow oval pills, which were identified as Acetaminophen & Oxycodone/Hydrochloride, a controlled substance.
Inside Wood’s wallet was $882.00. Another $1,900.00 was located hidden in the dash of the vehicle Wood was operating.
Wood was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail. Wood was booked in the jail pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.
Wood remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $10,000.00 cash only.
