On Thursday, July 2, 2015 at approximately 12:35 PM, the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department received a report from a park user regarding a deceased person floating in the water near the shoreline at Point Isabel Regional Park, Richmond, CA. Emergency Medical Aide and Officers from the Richmond Police Department and East Bay Regional Park District Police Department responded to the park and located the victim on the riprap behind the EBMUD Wet Weather Treatment Plant (Isabel Street). The victim, an unknown race female, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Contra County Coroner’s Office was called and took custody of the victim. The Coroner’s office will determine the cause of death.
A search of the area was completed by officers and the park was reopened at approximately 2:40 PM.
