PORTSMOUTH POLICE NEED ASSISTANCE LOCATING MISSING FEMALE
Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department Special Victims Unit are asking for the public’s help in locating 64 year-old Dorothy Sumner of Portsmouth. According to detectives, family members last saw Ms. Sumner on Saturday, July 4, 2015 just before 4 p.m. at her home located in the 3200 block of Victory Boulevard, sitting on the front porch. Family members searched for hours after noticing Ms. Sumner was missing and eventually notified police of her disappearance just before 9:00 p.m., on July 4th.
Detectives are concerned about Ms. Sumner’s well being because she suffers from a health condition that requires medication and regular supervision. Dorothy Sumner is described as a black female standing approximately 5’8” tall and weighing 150 pounds. She is wearing a short black wig, has brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a long black and white dress, similar to the one in the photograph attached.

Callers who call the crime line are never asked to give their name or testify in court. If their information leads to an arrest, the recovery of drugs or stolen property they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
