Mercersburg Police Department requests information on Hit and Run vehicle and driver.
On July 3, 2015 at 4:40 p.m. the Mercersburg Police Department investigated a three vehicle Hit & Run Injury accident. Vehicle # 3, operated by Emma C. CRANSTON of Greencastle, PA was traveling orth on South Main Street at the intersection of Mercer Avenue. She intended to turn left onto Mercer Avenue and was waiting for oncoming traffic to pass.
Vehicle # 2 operated by Terry L. CASSNER of Mercersburg, PA was also traveling north on South Main Street and was behind Vehicle # 3. Vehicle # 2 stopped about a car length behind Vehicle # 3.
Vehicle # 1 was also traveling north on South Main Street behind Vehicle # 2. The operator of Vehicle # 1 failed to stop and ran into the rear of Vehicle # 2, pushing Vehicle # 2 into Vehicle # 3.
After impact, the operator of Vehicle # 1 backed up, drove around Vehicle # 2 and 3 and turned left onto Mercer Avenue and fled the accident scene.
The hit & run vehicle is described as an older model blue Chevrolet Blazer being operated by a white male. Vehicle # 1, the hit & run vehicle will have damage to the front of the vehicle and is missing a front license plate holder.
Operator # 2 complained of neck pain and transported himself for medical treatment.
