Three Year Investigation Comes to a Close with Two Arrested on Drug Related Charges
Scott County-On Tuesday, December 16, 2011, Trooper Tracy Spencer from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg met with Dr. Dhamy Sivamohan at her office in Scottsburg. Dr. Sivamohan told the trooper that she had learned that there were controlled substance prescriptions that had been allegedly written or allegedly called into pharmacies located in Scott County by her nurse, Ginger Mullins. She also advised that she did not authorize or prescribe the prescriptions and it involved at least fifteen other patients.
After speaking to Dr. Sivamohan and gaining prescription records the trooper learned that the only people that had authorization to call in or write scripts at the doctor's practice were Ginger Mullins and Dr. Sivamohan. It was also learned that Ginger Mullins would either call in or write prescriptions on unknown patients. She would then contact her friend and alleged accomplice, Lauren Parrish, to pick up the prescriptions. Ginger Mullins and Lauren Parrish would then allegedly meet when Ginger got off work and split the acquired medications. The patients did not know their information was being used to obtain the illegal prescriptions. In many cases the victim's insurance was being charged.
The case was turned into the Scott County Prosecutor's Office last October and in April of this year a warrant was issued for Ginger Mullins and in June of 2015 a warrant was issued for Lauren Parrish.Lauren Parrish was served her arrest warrant at the Scott County Jail where she is currently incarcerated on separate charges. Ginger Mullins was arrested yesterday and incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
Lauren Parrish, 26, from Henryville, IN, was charged with Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Ginger Mullins, 38, from Scottsburg, IN was charged with Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud and Practicing as a Nurse while Unlicensed.
