Evansville Man Arrested for DUI and Possession of Cocaine
Posey County – Saturday night at approximately 7:35, Trooper Brent Gramig was patrolling SR 62 west of Indian Mound Road when he observed a Mercury Cougar traveling west at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked by radar at 70 in a 55 mph zone. Gramig stopped the vehicle on SR 62 just inside the Mt. Vernon city limits. The driver was identified as Ricky Crawford, 57, of Evansville. While talking to the driver, Gramig detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Further investigation revealed Crawford was impaired and had a blood alcohol content of .08%. A search of Crawford’s pants pocket revealed a rock of cocaine. Crawford was arrested and taken to the Posey County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
