7/12/15, press release: Aggravated Domestic Assault and other charges
On Sunday, July 12, 2015, at approximately 18:05 hours, the Burlington Police Department responded to an address on Northgate Road for a physical domestic disturbance.
The investigation revealed that the incident occurred for an extended period of time where Jervon Montgomery (17) assaulted a female victim. The victim attempted to leave and call for help numerous times but was prevented from leaving by Montgomery as he was physically restraining her. The victim subsequently stabbed Montgomery in the leg in order to get away from him.
Montgomery currently has active conditions of release not to have contact with the victim from a pending court case.
Montgomery fled the scene and was located a short time later with the assistance of neighboring police departments.
Montgomery was treated for his injury at the University of Vermont Medical Center and released to the custody of the Burlington Police Department.
Montgomery is scheduled to be held at the Woodside Juvenile detention center until his arraignment on July 14, 2015 at which time it is anticipated he will be charged as an adult for Aggravated Domestic Assault, Unlawful Restraint, Lewd and Lascivious Conduct, Violation of Conditions of Release, and Interfering with Emergency Services
