Search for Good Samaritans
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office is asking you to share this request to find two "Good Samaritans" who saved a man's life. Around 11am last Saturday, July 11th 2015, during the "One Helluva Ride" bicycle event, a 50 year old male cyclist taking part in the ride collapsed at M52 and Dexter Trail in full cardiac arrest. Responding deputies learned that three individuals assisted this victim and ultimately saved his life.
The first, another cyclist participating in the One Helluva Ride event, began CPR in the middle of the road after he collapsed. While first responders were still on the way, our 911 Dispatch Center advised that two other passing motorists (an off duty nurse and another subject) took over CPR. These three individuals maintained CPR for several minutes, as the deputy was responding from Meridian and M36 (between Mason and Dansville.)
After the medics and the deputy arrived, these three subjects left the scene before we were able to identify them. The other bike rider has been identified, but the Ingham County Sheriff's Office would like assistance in identifying the other two Good Samaritans to recognize them for their heroic actions.
If you know who else was involved, please have them contact Major Joel Maatman at 517-676-8202
