ISP K9 "Drogos" Instrumental in Capture of Parolee
Unionville (Monroe County) - Just after 4pm yesterday afternoon, ISP Troopers located a female wanted on warrant at a residence located on Anderson Road. Information initially obtained led officers to believe that she was in the company of her boyfriend who was wanted on an Indiana Parole Warrant.
The female was identified as Jessica Jo McLane, 25 of Unionville and her boyfriend who was identified as Donald P. Jones, 31 of Bloomington.
Officers observed McLane arrive at the residence and detained her without incident. While officers were obtaining a search warrant for the residence, Trooper Allen Deel and his K9 Partner "Drogos" were requested to assist with a building search should the warrant be approved. Shortly thereafter a white male identified as Jones voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement by walking out the front door.
Jones told Troopers he had not planned on coming out of the house until he heard the police dog barking. Both McLane and Jones were incarcerated in the Monroe County Jail regarding their arrest warrants.
Trooper Richard Klun stated “K9 Drogos had a direct impact on the outcome of this intense situation. Had it not been for K9 Drogos, ISP Troopers would have had to enter the residence themselves at some point. The mere presence of K9 Drogos potentially saved multiple lives”.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
