Lakeville, Minnesota Police Tip Leads To Arrest Of New Point Man
New Point – A tip from the Lakeville, Minnesota Police has lead to the arrest of a New Point, Indiana man.
Indiana State Police Trooper Matt Simmons arrested Tyler Kessler 20, of New Point, at his residence on old US 421 after executing a search warrant.
An investigation by Lakeville, Minnesota Police that began in January 2015 led investigators to New Point, Indiana. Trooper Simmons of the ISP Indiana Crimes Against Children (ICAC) taskforce yielded information from the Lakeville Police Department investigators that directed him to obtain a search warrant for the residence of Tyler Kessler on US 421 in New Point.
Trooper Simmons, along with other members of ISP ICAC taskforce, ISP Cyber Crimes unit and troopers from the Versailles post executed the search warrant at the residence early Friday morning and allegedly recovered items associated with Child Pornography. Further evidence was also recovered which suggest Kessler has been inappropriately communicating with at least one underage female.
Kessler was taken into custody at his residence without incident. Kessler is being preliminarily charged with Child Solicitation, a Level 5 Felony and Possession of Child Pornography, a Level 6 Felony. Kessler was transported to the Decatur County jail where he was incarcerated without bond.
This investigation is on-going.
