Brooklyn Sportsman Club facility damaged as a result of a structure fire.
At approximately 12:30 A.M., on Sunday, July 19, 2015, the Columbia Township Fire Department and Columbia Township Police Department were dispatched to the Brooklyn Sportsman’s Club on Monroe St. in Brooklyn, for a structure fire. The fire was reported by a nearby resident who observed the fire from her residence.
On arrival, units found the main clubhouse fully involved. There were no members or other people present at the time of the fire. Units were on scene for approximately 4 hours extinguishing the fire and mopping up.
Assistance was provided by the Napoleon Township Fire Department, Grass Lake Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department, and Cambridge Township Fire Department.
The clubhouse/main structure is a total loss. The fire is still under investigation by the Columbia Township Police Department, Columbia Township Fire Department, and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal Division.
