7/18/15, press release: Aggravated Assault
On July 18TH, 2015 at approximately 11:23 PM, Burlington Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on Maple Street for a report of a disturbance where one male victim was stabbed and had left the scene.
Officers located the male victim in the vicinity. The victim was evaluated by the Burlington Fire Department and transported via ambulance to the University of Vermont Medical Center Emergency Room for a stab wound to the abdomen.
Investigation revealed that the victim and an acquaintance, Patrick Crowley, were involved in an altercation inside Crowley’s apartment. During the altercation, Crowley stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a folding knife.
The victim required emergency surgery to treat the stab wound but is expected to fully recover.
Crowley is currently jailed at the Chittenden County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 bail. Crowley is expected to be arraigned on Monday morning, July 20TH, 2015 for Aggravated Assault.
A person found guilty of Aggravated Assault, Vermont Title 13 VSA 1024(a)(1), shall be imprisoned for not more than 15 years or fined not more than $10,000 or both.
