On Saturday July 25th, 2015 between the hours of 8am and noon the City of Independence will be installing a new phone system. There may be a short time between the hours of 8-12, when you cannot reach the Independence Police Department directly by phone. If you have any problems calling in on the IPD administrative lines to report a non-emergency situation please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at 620-330-1000. They will be able to contact IPD at that time. If you have an emergency please dial 911 as always - there will not be any interruptions to the emergency lines - if IPD is not able to answer then Coffeyville PD will do so immediately - no change in service will be noticeable to the caller in these situations!
Please be patient in these situations and the phone system will be upgraded and back to normal as soon as possible!
