On Friday, July 24th, at 7:45 PM the Cannelton Police Department was dispatched to Tom’s Circle S at 204 South 7th Street. A clerk from the store had called 911 and reported she had been robbed and that the suspect displayed a gun. Officers arrived on scene within a minute of the call to find a citizen, who was present in the store during the robbery, had chased the suspect into the parking, where he detained the suspect until officers arrived.
Arrested was a 17 year old male juvenile from Tell City.
Recovered was cash taken during the robbery, and a BB/Pellet type pistol made to appear realistic.
The juvenile was placed in detention on the following charges:
Robbery, a Level 5 Felony
Theft, a Class A Misdemeanor
The Cannelton Police Department was assisted by the Tell City Police Department and Perry County Sheriff’s Department.
