Downey, CA July 25, 2015: On July 24, 2015 at about 10:57 p.m., Downey Officers responded to Firestone Blvd and La Reina Ave. regarding shots fired. When the officers arrived, they discovered one gunshot victim standing behind his vehicle. The victim was treated at the scene by Downey Paramedics and transported to St. Francis Medical Center in the city of Lynwood.
Witnesses said the victim was stopped in his vehicle at the intersection of Firestone Blvd. and La Reina Avenue, when a four door compact vehicle pulled alongside and stopped. The suspect exited the front passenger side of the vehicle and began shooting the victim. After the shooting, the suspects vehicle fled the location.
The shooter is described as a male Hispanic, early 30’s, 160-170 pounds, goatee, tattoos on arms, wearing a necklace, dark colored baseball hat, white sleeveless shirt, and blue jeans. The suspect driver was described as a male Hispanic, 50’s, tattoos on arms, wearing a dark colored baseball hat, and white sleeveless shirt.
The suspect vehicle is described as a four door possible 1990’s Honda or Toyota, blue or green in color.
The location where the shooting occurred is a very busy intersection. We believe others may have witnessed the shooting.
