GCSO conducting death investigation of 17-year old

On Saturday (07/25/15) afternoon shortly before 4:00 p.m., Greene County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of the 3600 block of West Farm Road 14 in northern Greene County when a 16-year old male called 911 after finding his 17-year old friend, identified as Tristen England, slumped over on a tractor. According to the 16-year old, the two boys were mowing a field in the area on separate tractors; approximately 15 minutes had passed from the time the 16-year old had seen England. When he found England, the teenager noticed his friend had been injured by equipment which had become loose from the tractor.

GCSO Deputies and first responders from several agencies attempted life-saving measures including CPR but were unsuccessful in reviving England.

"This is a tragic accident where a young life was lost," stated Sheriff Jim Arnott. "Our prayers and hearts are extended to this young man's family and friends during this very difficult time."

The investigation is still on-going and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday afternoon.
