7/27/15, press release: burglary

On July 27, 2015 at approximately 1438 hours the Burlington Police Department responded to the area of 248 North Willard Street, Burlington, for a reported Burglary in progress that was called in by a concerned neighbor. The caller described the suspect as a white male, with a shaved head, wearing camo shorts and a dark shirt. They also advised the suspect had broken out a front window of the residence and possibly cut himself and had wrapped his arm with his dark shirt.

Officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter and began searching in the area for the described suspect. Moments later the suspect fled out the back door of 248 North Willard Street and began running from the scene. Officers were able to quickly apprehend the suspect, later identified as Steven Leclair DOB: 3/1/83 of Winooski, VT. Leclair was apprehended with numerous items belonging to the resident of 248 North Willard Street. Leclair was lodged at Chittenden Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.
