Part Time Dispatchers Needed
NOTICE OF EMPLOYMENT--PART-TIME DISPATCHERS
The Hoonah Police Department is now accepting applications on a continued basis for Dispatchers. Applications can be picked up at City Hall or the Police Department Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. This posting may be used to fill multiple positions.
Opening Date: Open until filled
Starting Pay: $12.67 per hour or DOE
The position is under the supervision of the Chief of Police through the Dispatch Supervisor: Incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to:
1. Answer 911 and general phone calls for the Hoonah Department of Public Safety.
2. Monitor and dispatch Police, Fire, EMS through the use of various Communication Systems.
3. Interact well with the public and staff members, receive complaints and forward through appropriate channels.
4. Ability to monitor and supervise prisoners through CCTV monitors.
5. Sign and abide by confidentiality guidelines and other policies.
6. Possess or be willing to successfully complete training for AK Public Safety Information Network (ASPIN), EMD, FEMA related courses, CPR and Basic First Aid.
7. Must show ability to work independently and possess the ability to operate basic office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be a US Citizen, 21 years of age, High School Diploma or GED, DD form 214 for veterans, able to pass a Department and State background check, pass a drug screen, and have no history of serious misdemeanor convictions or any felony.
