Motorcycle Crash has One Airlifted to Hospital
Clinton County-Today at approximately 3:45 p.m. on I-65 SB near the 152 MM (that is six miles south of the 158 exit/MM), a single motorcycle crash has the driver airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.
Preliminary investigation by Senior Trooper Ryan Winters has revealed that the rider of a burgundy 2002 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, Brandon R. McCain, 43 of Indianapolis, was in the left lane allegedly texting on his phone, when the bike traveled into the grassy median. He appeared to over correct when attempting to reenter the roadway and lost control of the motorcycle. McClain became separated from the motorcycle and was lying in the left lane when paramedics arrived.
McClain was not wearing a helmet. He was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The interstate in both directions was closed for the helicopter to land, pickup the driver and take off.
Assisting at the scene were troopers from the Lafayette Post, Clinton County EMS, Warren County Sheriff's Department, Galvin’s Wrecker Service out of Frankfort and two registered nurses who stopped and administered first aid till paramedics arrived.
The investigation is continuing. I have no pictures. Family has been notified.
