BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Diehlstadt, Missouri man arrested for two counts of Domestic Assault.

Kenneth R. Dorris (22) of 281 South Deal Street, Diehlstadt, Missouri has been charged with two counts of the Class C Felony of Domestic Assault Second Degree.

Sheriff Walter states that on Saturday, August 1, 2015 the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic at 277 State Highway 77 in Diehlstadt. It was reported that Dorris had left walking to 281 South Deal Street.

A deputy located Dorris walking on Julia Street. Dorris had a significant amount of blood on his shirt. Dorris told the deputy he had been in a fight with his grandfather, and the blood belonged to his grandfather.

The deputy made contact with the victim at 281 Deal Street. The victim stated he was in an argument with his grandson, Dorris. The victim stated Dorris started to hit the windows of the victim’s vehicle. The victim opened the door, and told Dorris to get in the vehicle. Dorris began assaulting the victim, knocked him to the ground, and began hitting him. This caused a severe laceration to the victim’s elbow.

Dorris’ grandmother came outside during the assault. She observed Dorris striking and shoving his grandfather. She went to stop the assault and was knocked to the ground by Dorris. This caused lacerations to her elbow, both knees, and a large bruise to her other elbow.

Dorris’ grandfather went to the hospital for medical attention for his injured elbow.

Dorris was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County jail where he was booked pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Dorris remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $350.00 cash only and no contact with the victims.
