RE: PRESS RELEASE
On Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 1:46 PM the Cannelton Police Department was dispatched to 125 South 4th Street. A resident there had called Central Dispatch and reported a computer tablet had been stolen from her apartment. Over the course of the next two days, officers were able gather enough information to make an arrest and recover the property.
Arrested on August 3, 2015 was a Justin L. Melton, 20, of Tell City.
Melton was incarcerated for the following charges:
Burglary, a Level 4 Felony
Criminal Trespass, a Level 6 Felony
Residential Entry, a Level 6 Felony
Theft, a Class A Misdemeanor
The Cannelton Police Department was assisted by the Perry County Sheriff’s Department.
