K-9 Teague Tracks Suspect and Arrest Made
Clark County-This morning around 9:33 a.m., officers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg as well as Clark County Deputies and officers from the Sellersburg Town Police responded to a possible burglary in process at 7005 County Road 311 in Sellersburg. The caller stated it appeared someone was attempting to gain entry into the residence via a back door.
When officers arrived on the scene witnesses stated a male subject had fled on foot from the residence. Trooper Nathan Abbott with his new K-9 partner, “Teague” was one of the police officers that responded. Trooper Abbott deployed “Teague” and “Teague” was able to track the subject from the residence to the rear of the Dollar General store located on County Road 311. When “Teague” located the subject, identified as Stephen M. Caffee, 29, from Paradise Lane in Louisville, KY, he was attempting to change his clothing beside of a dumpster. Stephen M. Caffee was taken into custody and charged with Residential Entry, Level 6 Felony; Criminal Mischief, B Misdemeanor and Invasion of Privacy, A Misdemeanor. He was also wanted on an arrest warrant out of Clark County, IN. He was incarcerated at the Clark County Jail.
K-9 “Teague” is a four year old shepherd who recently graduated from the Indiana State Police K-9 Academy and is assigned to Trooper Abbott.
