UPDATE:

The male is now in the custody of deputies.  He is being medically treated and will be held for a 72 hour mental observation at a local hospital.  He may additionally be charged with trespassing. 

Deputies are in the 8000 block of Madison Street, Paramount, where an injured man was located on top of a garage roof.  The male appears to be suffering from a head injury.  Crisis negotiators and mental health response team members are currently attempting to negotiate with the man to ensure he receives medical assistance.  The Los Angeles County Fire Department is also on scene.  In addition, members of the Sheriff's Department Emergency Services Detail have just arrived.  Emergency Services Detail deputies are highly trained paramedics, who specialize in technical rescues.

At this time, it is not known how the male received his injuries, or if  he is suffering from mental illness, or substance abuse.
