Disabled Vehicle Leads to Drug Arrest
Scott County-On Yesterday’s date in the afternoon hours, Trooper Tracy Spencer stopped to check on a disabled vehicle on Interstate #65 south bound near the 30 Mile Marker in Scott County. The vehicle, a 2013 KIA Soul with Georgia license plates, was allegedly out of gas. While talking with the two occupants of the vehicle, Trooper Spencer smelled a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Trooper Spencer went back to his police car and called the Scott County Sheriff’s Department and requested a K-9 unit. Scott County K-9, “Arina”, and the K-9’s handler came to the scene. The Scott County Deputy walked his K-9 around the car and the dog detected a presence of a controlled substance.
During a search of the vehicle, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia were located in a container in the back seat of the car.
Andraya L. Woodley, 27, from St. Louis, MO, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both Misdemeanors. She was incarcerated at the Scott County Jail awaiting her first court appearance.
