Sikeston man charged in connection with robbery
BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a Sikeston man has been charged in connection with an early morning robbery on Friday.
Andrew T. Robinett (28) Sikeston has been charged with armed criminal action, burglary in the 1st degree, robbery in the 1st degree, unlawful use of a weapon and endangerment of a child.
At approximately 4:20 AM Friday morning, a deputy was dispatched to a residence east of Sikeston regarding a home invasion and armed robbery. Multiple victims inside the residence reported being awakened by two white male subjects both wearing ski masks and one exhibiting a handgun. Occupants of the residence were corralled into the living room where the suspects forcibly took their money and cell phones. It was reported that approximately $4,425 in US currency and five cell phones were taken.
During the robbery, one of five victims was able to escape and provide officers with a suspect vehicle description. The victim identified the suspect vehicle as a white SUV type vehicle.
One of the victims also recognized the voice of Robinett as one of the robbery suspects.
Shortly after the robbery, Robinett was arrested at his residence and remains in the Scott County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Walter said the investigation is ongoing.
