Subject Arrested With Stolen Vehicle
Tippecanoe County-On Monday the 10th of August, troopers were called to a crash on I-65 SB near the 181 MM (that is three miles north of the SR 43/178 exit) were a subject was found to be in possession of a stolen truck.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper A. J. Smith has shown that a white 2015 Ford Courier box truck was laying on its side in the median. As he was talking to the driver, Carlos C. Williams, 24 of Lisle, IL he was advised Williams was driving south when he drifted off the shoulder, overcorrected and went into the median and laid the truck on its side. As he checked through Lafayette radio on the owner of the truck, information was given that it was allegedly stolen out of Franklin Park, IL.
Williams was taken into custody and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle a class 6 Felony and was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. Assisting Trooper Smith were Troopers William Balch, Michael Krueger, Tyler Stinson, Master Trooper Detective Tim Kendall and Farney’s Wrecker Service out of Wolcott, IN. The investigation is continuing. I have no picture of Carlos Williams.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
