SERIOUS INJURY RELATED TRAFFIC COLLISION UPDATE
On August 9, 2015 at approximately 9:23 p.m., the Corona Police Department and the Corona Fire Department responded to the area of Promenade Avenue and Sixth Street in response to a serious injury related traffic collision. Eduardo Alvarez (25-years-old of Corona) was driving eastbound on Sixth Street approaching Promenade Avenue and collided with a vehicle carrying Jacob George (22-years-old of Corona) and Courtney Ferranto (22-years-old of Corona).
Alvarez and George were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. Ferranto was transported to Riverside Community Hospital with serious life threatening injuries. Alvarez was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
On August 11, 2015, Corona Police were notified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office that Ferranto had died as a result of her injuries.
