As an FYI the Erie County Dept. of Health will be participating in a rabies vaccine airdrop throughout the county, including the EA area. Weather permitting it is expected to start Aug. 17 and be completed in about 3 days. In addition to the airdrop the baits will also be distributed via vehicles and on foot. To date in 2015 16 animals, predominately bats and raccoons have tested positive for rabies. Residents are asked not to disturb the baits if they see them. Baits are usually gone within a week.
