Pike County man charged with OVWI and Drug Possession following a one vehicle accident.
40 year old BILLY D THOMAS of Petersburg was arrested following a report of a one vehicle accident in the White Oak community. Deputies responded to a call of a vehicle over an embankment on CR 200 S. When deputies arrived they located a white pick-up truck off the side of a road crashed into a tree. They could tell from the scene that the vehicle had rolled. They searched the area for any persons who may have been ejected from the vehicle. After checking the vehicle a white passenger car pulled up with a male passenger who advised that the owner of the vehicle was located at his house, that being in the 1800 Block of S Black Run Lane Winslow, IN When we arrived there he went inside and came out with a Male who was known to be Billy Thomas. Deputies immediately noticed Mr. Thomas was staggering and having difficulty keeping his balance. He had blood on his shirt and pants. Mr. Thomas was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed. Deputy Dallas Killian transported Mr. Thomas to the Pike County Security center. Where Deputy Dallas Killian a certified chemical test operator, determined from a chemical test that the accused had an alcohol concentration equivalent to .143 gram of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. Mr. Thomas was booked on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of legend drug.
