GCSO conduct special enforcement to stop street racing 
On Saturday night (08/15/15), Greene County Sheriff's Deputies conducted special traffic enforcement in response to several complaints of illegal street racing on county roads and highways. Concerns ranged from dangerous speeds to obstructing traffic. Funding for this enforcement was available through a MoDOT grant.
Results from the saturation patrol follows:
- 17 traffic stops
- 10 warnings issued for moving violations
- 8 warnings issued for non-moving/equipment violations
- 2 citations issued for uninsured motorists
- 1 citation issued for suspended driver's license
- 2 arrests
"Whether we are removing impaired drivers or reckless drivers, GCSO Deputies are proactive to ensure safer roadways for the citizens of Greene County through checkpoints and saturation patrols," states Sheriff Jim Arnott.
