GCSO search for attempted robbery suspect who had stolen 2 vehicles
On Sunday afternoon (08/16/15), Greene County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a church in northwestern Greene County located in the 2700 block of North Farm Road 25 after a churchgoer confronted a male who he witnessed rummaging through one of the vehicles. According to the witness, the suspect pulled a handgun on him and then fled from the scene in a gold 2001 Ford F150 truck.
Shortly thereafter, GCSO Deputies were advised Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers had located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description in the driveway of a home in the area of State Highway F and West Farm Road 84. Upon further investigation, it was determined the truck had been stolen from a gas station in Springfield earlier that morning and the homeowner where the truck had been abandoned had his 2013 champagne colored Chevy Cruze (Missouri license plate #HJ8-S3F) stolen from that location as well. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect in the area at that time.
GCSO Deputies are searching for a white male, in his mid 20s with multiple tattoos. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
If you see a vehicle matching this description and license plate, please do not place yourself in danger and call 9-1-1. If you have any information, please contact the GCSO Tip Line at 417-829-6230.
