As we all know, the Hotter n Hell Hundred bike ride is fast approaching. Each year thousands of riders descend on our city for a few days in August to participate in this annual event. With that in mind, here are a few safety tips to be aware of as you enjoy the ride. A reminder to drivers out there: slow down, don't get in a hurry, watch for bicycle traffic, and be prepared to stop. For you bicycle riders out there: never ride against the flow of traffic, always wear a helmet, look out for road hazards and obey traffic signs and signals. Whether you are on a bicycle or driving a car, being respectful of each other's presence will go a long way in providing for a safe event for everyone. This year's events are scheduled for August 27th through the 30th, with the ride on Saturday August 29th.
