Beware of a telephone scam that has been around for a long time but has recently been perpetrated again in the area. It targets seniors and involves a call from someone claiming to be a child or grandchild usually. They claim to need money because of legal trouble and want gift cards or money wired to a third party. They also don't want anybody else to know because they're ashamed. DO NOT BE A VICTIM. Never give out credit card numbers, social security numbers, bank account numers or personal data.
