Homicide Investigation

On Friday, at around 8:44 p.m., Downey Dispatchers received 911 calls reporting gun shots being fired in the area of Paramount and Stewart and Gray. When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male had been shot to the front of 7961 Stewart and Gray.

Downey Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Two male subjects were last seen running westbound on Stewart and Gray from the area of the shooting.
The suspect who fired the fatal shot is described as a male Hispanic, medium build, wearing a white tee shirt. This shooting does appear gang-related.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
