Scottsburg Man Arrested for Battering Child
Scott County-Yesterday evening, Detective Brian Busick from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg interviewed James Collings in reference to serious and suspicious injuries to a three year old female child from Scottsburg, IN. The child had been taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY last Thursday suffering from suspicious injuries. The Indiana State Police was contacted after hospital officials and the Indiana Division of Family and Children suspected possible injuries from child abuse.
Detective Busick interviewed the father of the child, James Collings, 25, from 1688 Rosewood Road in Scottsburg. While talking to James Collings it was learned that he became upset at the three year old child and allegedly tied her up on several occasions with zip ties. It was also learned on one occasion he had allegedly struck her with a belt buckle.
After speaking to James Collings, he was arrested and incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
He was charged with Battery Causing Bodily Injury, Level 6 Felony.
This investigation is continuing.
