Rodden Fire in Oakdale, California
Oakdale, CA - Crews were dispatched to a fire along the roadway at Rodden/McCleod in Oakdale Ca at 1:08 PM today. The fire spread down into the riverbed and across the river where the roof of one home on Scarlet Oak was damaged due to hot embers landing on it. Several other homes on the same street were evacuated as a precautionary measure but no other homes were damaged. Residents who were evacuated are being allowed to return home at this time. The size of the fire is estimated to have been approximately eight acres and it was brought under control with the assistance of crews on the ground and in the air from 11 different fire agencies to include: Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District, CAL FIRE, Ceres, Modesto, Burbank Paradise, Turlock, Salida, Denair, Keyes, Woodland, & Turlock Rural Fire Department. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation but suspected to be electrical in nature.
