Jennings County Man Arrested on Drug Related Charges
Jennings County-A traffic stop on Tuesday morning landed a North Vernon man in jail on numerous felony drug related charges and took methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia off the streets.
At approximately 9:00 AM on Tuesday, Trooper Randel Miller stopped a 2000 Chevrolet SUV being driven by Eric J. Easter, 38, North Vernon, on SR 7 at Country Squire Boulevard for speeding. During the course of the stop, Trp. Miller became suspicious that criminal activity was taking place. Trp. Miller deployed K-9 Jinx who then alerted to the odor of an illegal drug coming from Easter’s vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, Trp. Miller located a controlled substance, methamphetamine residue, syringes, and drug paraphernalia. Easter was then arrested and incarcerated in the Jennings County Jail where he will face numerous drug related charges. Upon posting a bond, Easter will be given an initial court date to appear in the Jennings County Circuit Court. A mug photograph of Easter may be obtained by contacting the Jennings County Jail.
