Narrative:
On 8/13/2015, Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives received information of a possible Butane Honey Oil (BHO) laboratory being operated in an apartment complex located on the 100 block of Moorpark Avenue in the city of Moorpark. Detectives identified the two suspects involved as Joshua Bauer and Ryan Homoki who lived in the apartment complex.
Homoki was detained as he left the apartment and Bauer was not home at the time. Detectives served a search warrant at the location and found a small indoor marijuana grow and a sophisticated marijuana extraction system set up in a bedroom. This extraction process is extremely dangerous due to the high probability of explosion which can cause significant property damage, injuries and deaths.
Detectives dismantled the operation and seized about 2-1/2 pounds of marijuana, individually packaged marijuana (THC) extract, several grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and over two thousand dollars in currency. Also seized were a loaded shotgun and handgun as well as four rifles, one of which was an assault style rifle with numerous loaded high capacity magazines.
Homoki was arrested for violations of possession of marijuana for sale and manufacturing concentrated cannabis. He bailed out of jail and is scheduled to appear in court on 8/27/2015 at 1:30pm.
Bauer turned himself in on 8/19/2015 and he was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and manufacturing concentrated cannabis. His bail is set at $50,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on 8/21/2015 at 1:30pm.
