Reminder:
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has issued an advisory prohibiting all open burning in our area due to the diminished air quality. According to DEQ, the air quality is in the moderate to unhealthy categories in many parts of the state. The air quality has been impacted by the smoke from recent wildfires burning throughout the state. Campfires, burn permits, recreational fires, and weed control burning are prohibited under this advisory. Burn permits that have been issued and are currently open fall under this ban. Please feel free to contact Fire Prevention if a burn permit extension is needed once this ban has been lifted. Please make sure to refrain from doing any open burning during this burn ban. For more information regarding the advisory please visit http://airquality.deq.idaho.gov/
