School Zone Enforcement Begins Monday, August 24 
The Lewisville Police Department is asking citizens to drive slowly and watch for children as school begins August 24. The safety of our children remains a priority with the Department and adherence to school zone laws will be strictly enforced.
If driving in a school zone, cell phone usage is prohibited unless the device is operated hands-free.
Drivers also must observe the laws governing school buses. When approaching a school bus with alternating red lights, traffic must stop in both directions unless on a divided road. On a divided road, only traffic traveling the same direction as the school bus must stop.
