BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston man arrested for Domestic Assault and Weapons Violation.
Justin B. Rapert (31) of 286 Estate Drive, Sikeston, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Domestic Assault and Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Sheriff Walter states that on Saturday, August 22, 2015 the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic assault at 286 Estate Drive, outside of Sikeston. Deputies spoke with the victim who stated she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, Rapert, who then assaulted her. The victim stated during the argument Rapert picked up their juvenile daughter. While holding their daughter, Rapert struck the victim in the arm and shoved her into the wall. Rapert put the juvenile down at that time.
Rapert grabbed the victim by her neck and began choking her until she could not breathe and forced the victim to the floor. Rapert started kicking and hitting her again. Rapert picked the victim up and shoved her head in the wall again.
Rapert left and came back in the living room with a BB gun. He pointed it at the victim and told her he would shoot her in the head. The victim was able to call the Sheriff’s Office at this time, and Rapert walked into the garage.
The victim had multiple scratches and abrasions on her back, chest, and legs. She had marks around her neck also.
Rapert was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County jail where he was booked pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.
Rapert remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $5,000.00 cash only and no contact with the victim.
