Monroe County Native Ryan Miller Promoted to District Squad Leader
Bloomington – Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter has announced the promotion of Master Trooper Ryan Miller to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Miller will be serving as a District Squad Leader and will directly supervise enforcement personnel. Miller's new duties will include evaluating job performance, counseling squad members and maintaining liaison between his squad and other department entities.
A 1995 graduate of Bloomington High School North, Sergeant Miller earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University in 1999. Sergeant Miller graduated from the ISP Recruit School Academy in December of 1999 and upon graduation, Sergeant Miller was assigned to the Lafayette Post and primarily patrolled Fountain County. Miller then transferred to the Bloomington Post in 2003 where he was assigned Monroe County. Sergeant Miller has served in several roles over his 16 year ISP career, including Emergency Vehicle Operation Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and ISP Clandestine Lab Team Member.
Sergeant Miller and his wife and children reside in Monroe County. Miller's ISP Family includes his Father-In-Law, Lafayette Post Corporal Mike McCormick (Retired) and his Brother-In-Law, Master Trooper Aaron McCormick, also of the Lafayette Post
