Upland children started back to school on Monday, 8/24/15. This means more children walking to and from schools and traffic congestion around schools before and after school.

The Upland Police Department is conducting a maximum deployment around schools this week before and after school in an effort to keep our children safe. This includes all available officers as well as detectives patrolling the schools and warning or citing violators as necessary.

Please be alert to the increased pedestrian traffic. If you need to drive near a school or drop off or pick up your children allow plenty of time. When people are in a hurry they are more likely to make a mistake that may lead to an accident.
