Barricaded Suspect Ends Peacefully
On August 24, 2015, Corona Police Investigated a robbery where two suspects, John Rasso Jr., 35-year-old of Corona, and Priscella Becerra 38-year-old of Corona, got into an argument with another male in the 1400 block of S. Taylor Avenue. During the argument Rasso simulated that he had a weapon and grabbed the victim’s cell phone from his hands. Rasso and Becerra then assaulted the victim by punching him several times. Becerra hit the victim several times while holding a box cutter in her hand. The victim sustained a laceration to his face during the assault.
On August 27, 2015, officers were called to the 1400 block of S. Taylor regarding an argument. Prior to arriving at the address, officers learned one of the subjects involved in the argument was Rasso. As officers arrived they saw Rasso inside the house, and officers on scene believed he was armed. Attempts to call Rasso out of the house did not work and the Corona Special Response Team (SRT) was activated. At about 11 p.m. Rasso was taken into custody. There were no injuries sustained by officers, or Rasso, during his arrest. A replica handgun was located at the residence. Regarding Becerra, she is still at large.
