Advisory

***Public Release*** Support Law Enforcement Tomorrow September 4th

***Public Release***

On 09-02-15, the following message was issued from the Texas Governor's Office:

Texas Governor Greg Abbott called for police officers across the state of Texas to honor the funeral of slain Harris County Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth on Friday. The Governor asks that all police officers across the state “stand with law enforcement” by turning on their emergency lights for one-minute to mark the beginning of the deputy’s funeral being held in Houston.

In accordance with this directive, you may see local and area law enforcement officers, including members of the WFPD, with their overhead lights on during this brief time of tribute at 11:00am.  Please do not be alarmed.

We are also encouraging the citizens of Wichita Falls to show their support for law enforcement by wearing BLUE all day and posting their "BLUE" pictures on social media using the hashtag #wesupportthewfpd

Thank you for your support!  We look forward to seeing your pictures!
