Full Notification

On September 7, 2015 at approximately 0511 hours, Covina Police Officers were dispatched to a call of a female not breathing in an assisted living care facility in the 800 block of W. San Bernardino Road. Upon arriving, officers located a 61 year old female lying on the floor of her room and she was suffering from numerous stab wounds. The female was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Paramedics.

The victim’s 43 year old daughter, who was spending the night in her mother’s room at the location, was contacted inside the room with her mother and was identified as a suspect in the assault. The daughter was taken into custody and is currently being housed at the Covina Police Department on murder charges. Her has been set at $1,015,724 and she is scheduled to be arraigned at Citrus Superior Court on Wednesday September 9, 2015.

The name of the victim is not being released as of this time pending notification to the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. The suspects name is also being withheld pending this notification.
