The Columbia Township Police Department has made an arrest in relation to the larceny-from-autos, which was previously reported.

On August 17th, several larceny from autos were reported in Columbia Township, including on Spicer, Russmiller, Jefferson Road, and at Clarklake. Investigation included contacting area businesses where the credit card had been used, to obtain video images and any additional evidence.
An image of a suspect using one of the stolen credit cards at a party store in Jackson was obtained and then released to the public in an effort to identify him.
Several tips were called in to the Columbia Township Police Department, with the tipsters believing the suspect in the image was Larry Maddin, Jr. Contact was made with Maddin, and additional investigation continued. This included obtaining video from additional businesses where the stolen credit card was used, or attempted.
On Thursday, September 3, 2015, a warrant was authorized by the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office charging Larry Maddin, Jr, 38, of Brooklyn, with four fraud related charges tied to use or attempted use of the stolen credit card.
Maddin was located in Jackson, at which time he was arrested on the warrant and lodged at the Jackson County Jail. He was arraigned on Friday, September 4, 2015, with bond set at $20,000.00. He is additionally being held on a parole detainer.
