Police Arrest Man At Gas Station With Molotov Cocktail
Corona Police responded to the USA Gas Station at 611 N. Main Street at about 3:20 a.m. on September 11, 2015, because the station clerk saw a man lighting a Molotov Cocktail near the gas pumps. There were no other customers present and the gas station clerk was able to flee to a safe area. The man told the clerk that he was going to “light it up”. When officers arrived they found Victor Adan Cruz Alvarado, 42 year old of Rialto, sitting in the driver’s seat of his truck with a lit lighter in his hands. Cruz also was holding a metal pipe with a rag attached at one end. Cruz did not cooperate with officers’ commands at first. Further negotiations were needed to have Cruz drop his unlit lighter, rags and a camping style propane tank. Cruz was arrested without further incident for possession of the Molotov Cocktail, being under the influence of drugs and other drug related offenses. No one was injured during the incident.
